President's Day Learning Fun
_______________________________________________________
Hi there,
Just 2 weeks to go until time to celebrate the U.S. holiday
President’s Day. What a great opportunity for you to teach your kids
about the past leaders of your country.
Most schools in the U.S. are closed on President’s Day and the last
thing your children want to do on a day out of school is learn,
right? It’s possible to teach them to appreciate the day and past
leaders by making it fun without the “I’m learning” atmosphere.
Here are just a few ideas to help make it interesting for your young
ones.
- For younger kids who love the computer but don’t use it very
often, why not take a few minutes out to let them research
information on past presidents? (with your supervision of course)
- Play dress up and everyone dress up like a different leader. Abe
Lincoln is a huge hit among kids.
- Kids love playing with money. Take this opportunity to teach them
about the president’s that appear on coins and dollar bills.
Even if you don’t live in the United States, you can incorporate a
celebration or fun learning experience for leaders in your country
too with a lit bit of imagination.
