Subject: Teach Your Kids about Their Country

Whether you live in the U.S. or Canada, now is the perfect time
to teach your kids about their country. With Canada Day
coming up July 1st and Independence Day on the 4th, you’ll have
the perfect opportunity to not only celebrate and have fun with
them, but teach them what their country stands for and how it
came to be.

Here are a few tips and ideas for teaching your children about
the land they live in.

You can find resources to fit your child’s age and level of
understanding on the net or at your local library. From printing
a flag and coloring it to a more in depth explanation of the
history and how the countries came to be you’ll be sure to find
an activity that not only teaches them but is fun too!

If you live in a historical place take the kids on a trip to a
museum or to walk a historic trail. Talk to them about the
different things that helped make the country unique.

Bake cookies with patriotic designs and let the kids help.
